Stephen Kuester

Stephen Kuester

Kuester is what we call him, no one knows his real name. The following was written in Ipsum, a dialect of the planet Lorem. Until we find a translator, no one will know what he is trying to say. But who cares, shut up and play that steel-pedal you space freak!
"Integer suscipit porta iaculis. Suspendisse vel leo justo, sed lacinia tellus. Maecenas at felis turpis, ac sollicitudin mauris. Nulla et purus eget quam volutpat consequat eu auctor turpis. Etiam ultricies euismod magna, at blandit diam volutpat sit amet. Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit."
Travis Rinehart

Travis Rinehart

Travis Rinehart was born and raised in St. Albans, WV just outside the capital city of Charleston. His Granny B-Bolt was a piano player who could lay down the boogie woogie piano parts on Saturday night then go play gospel hymns for her church on Sunday. That's where his love for music began. Later, Travis played guitar and sang in country bands all through high school, including his uncle's band in which he played along side Stephen Kuester. He now writes songs and is always seeking a rowdy evening!
“Sweet” Eddie Carleton

“Sweet” Eddie Carlton

Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Eddie Carlton started playing the guitar in his early teens. After high school, he picked up the upright bass and focused his musical attention entirely on the larger than life instrument. Eddie later met up with Travis and Stephen and started playing bass with Jackass Flats in 2002. He has since become the driving rhythmic force behind the band, first on his own, and now in cahoots with drummer Scott Lewis.
Cory Potrafka

Cory Potrafka

Beginning his professional musical career with the acoustic guitar and electric bass, Cory Potrafka has played with a handful of regionally touring jam bands from the southern Virginia area (The Electric Fuzz Band, Jesse Chong Band, Octopus) before finding his home with Jackass Flats. Somewhere on this path he migrated to his current position behind the ivories (his first childhood love), and wielding a fistful of harmonicas to boot!
Scott Lewis

Scott Lewis

Scott Lewis was born and raised in Dayton Ohio where he studied music at a very young age. After relocating to Richmond, VA, Scott continued his music studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and has played in a wide variety of musical situations and genres through out the years, including the bands Moossa and The Big Payback. Since joining Jackass Flats in 2009, Scott has been thrilled to forge new paths with these musical pioneers and innovators.
Jesse Wells

Jesse Wells

The newest member to the band, Jesse Wells, was born in Lynchburg, VA where his upbringing was heavily steeped in bluegrass tradition. Receiving his first fiddle at the age of three, he gained early experience performing with his family band and attending numerous fiddler's conventions. Jesse graduated from the University of Richmond in 2010 with a degree in music. His studies included classical and jazz but his love for traditional music has prevailed. Jesse currently lives in Richmond, VA.
